Social and Activities Coordinator | SignaCare Killerig

We are currently recruiting for an Activities Coordinator for SignaCare Killerig.

Responsibilities:
* Participate in enhancing the intellectual and social wellbeing of the residents to provide a happy and stimulating experience.
* Help residents to socialise within the home and community.
* Encourage staff members, relatives, and friends to participate in the home's activities with residents.
* Complete 'This is me' booklets with residents and families and ensure all residents have memory boxes and name plates on rooms with choice of picture or symbol.
* Plan ongoing weekly activity rotas in conjunction with the residents' wishes, and encourage residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies.
* Continuously assess individual needs, particularly regarding possible rehabilitation, and participate in resident reviews as appropriate.
* Foster good community relations and manage the volunteer programme in line with the centre's policy.
Minimum Requirements:
* Experience in older person care.
* Experience in dementia care.
* Ability to plan and lead activities/social planning in line with residents' choices and abilities.
* Dementia-specific training.
* Degree/masters level programme related to social/healthcare.
