Position Title: Facilities Manager
Location: Client Site
Reporting to: Site Manager
Overall Purpose of the Job
The Facilities Manager oversees the site's facilities team, ensuring all Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost targets are met or exceeded. This is a hands-on role where the individual will actively support the team in completing tasks, manage aspects across all shifts, and be responsible for new hires, performance management reviews, and developing business objectives.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Demonstrates strong leadership and a clear work ethos within the team.
* Promotes day-to-day people management with frequent feedback to technicians and effective resource allocation.
* Develops technicians through training plans to advance their skills.
* Implements and manages strategic engineering goals, objectives, and KPIs.
* Attends tier 1 meetings and owns Facilities actions, ensuring timely closure of tier 2 actions.
* Ensures a smooth transition between shifts when required.
* Manages Facilities and client procedures, assigning process owners for each.
* Addresses non-conformances (NCs) and Corrective Action Plans (CAPAs), ensuring timely completion and closure.
* Reviews facility open work orders to maintain efficient equipment operation and maintenance.
* Performs planned preventative maintenance on facility-related equipment according to the Plant CMMS.
* Proactively identifies and remedies equipment issues to maximize uptime.
* Liaises with the Maintenance Manager and responds to technical queries in a timely manner to meet Service Level Agreement requirements.
* Oversees fault finding and repairs, contacting external service engineers as needed.
* Manages subcontractors, ensuring compliance with site and company training requirements.
* Coordinates and issues planned work orders for facility activities, closing follow-up work orders.
* Maintains appropriate records in line with GMP requirements.
* Ensures full compliance with the 6S.
* Keeps clients informed about equipment issues.
* Ensures adherence to EHS procedures at all times, contributing to targets related to Safety, Quality, Compliance, Continuous Improvement, and legislative requirements.
* Coordinates shift patterns, holidays, absences, and overtime.
* Conducts performance reviews with the team.
* Ensures the team complies with site Quality procedures.
* Takes responsibility for operational management of client subcontractors.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Third-level engineering qualification or Senior Trades experience.
* Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role within a highly regulated environment.
* Strong financial, systems, and process knowledge.
