About the Finance Department:
Based in the EMEA region’s newly established Dublin office, the EMEA Finance Department supports all of Dolby’s businesses alongside the R&D efforts across the region. Collectively, the team is responsible for a wide array of functions including FP&A, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Collections and Payroll. As a young, multinational team they are passionate and committed to providing excellent service in an industry focused on light, sound, vision, and cinema. The role is responsible for working in conjunction with the finance team and will play an integral part in developing the culture and success of the organization.
We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term basis - one year fixed term contract.
About the Role:
In the role of EMEA Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for accounting duties and statutory filing compliance in multiple territories/legal entities as well as managing deadlines and performing accounting activities with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
The key functions of this role are:
1. Responsible for the financial reporting of 2 legal country entities within the Dolby EMEA structure,
2. Prepare and post journal entries in SAP for these entities as well as monitor postings done by other accounting functions,
3. Hands-on performance of month-end close activities. Make sure that all deadlines are met and proactively review balances before closing,
4. Participate in projects to improve the quality of the Accounting Function, pro-actively suggest process improvements/additional controls,
5. Work closely with the Accounting Managers and execute assigned tasks and projects,
6. Engage with auditors on statutory audits for assigned entities, preparing financial statements in local GAAP and audit deliverables,
7. VAT reconciliation and journal entries.
Secondary tasks include:
8. Responsible for the Fixed Assets control process (additions, transfers, depreciation) and reconciliation thereof,
9. Assist with SOX documentation preparation.
About You:
10. Accountancy qualification,
11. Minimum 3 years PQE with experience in European Statutory accounting in one or more countries,
12. Proficiency in US GAAP, IFRS, statutory requirements for EMEA countries,
13. Clear and effective communication skills and a team player with a customer-oriented approach,
14. Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems preferably SAP,
15. Self-starter with hands-on work-style, strong work ethic and can-do attitude,
16. Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines,
17. Excellent in Excel and MS Word.
