Management Accountant - Finance Projects Purpose of the Position The Management Accountant reflects the need to provide effective Management Accounting and analysis of operational costs and performance together with oversight and co-ordination of management accounting projects and the drafting of management result papers to the board of Saint John of God Hospital, St Joseph's Centre, and Mental Health First Aid Ireland.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and as a member of the Finance Team, the Management Accountant will lead the development of the finance management accounting function to provide comprehensive, effective and efficient management accounting analytics to support the day to day departmental operations of the services and to provide analysis and support for current annual planning cycle.
The Management Accountant will ensure that the management accounting function of St John of God Hospital CLG operate within the targeted parameters set out in budgets and applies best practice in management accounting and management reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Supporting functions departments involved in the finance department i.e.
procurement, purchasing, pricing, investments, debt management and accounts payable and receivable analytics.
· The provision of financial support in accordance with the ethos and values of Saint John of God Hospitaller Services Group.
· Ensure robust financial analytics and governance systems and documented procedures are in place for all aspects of service including management of budgets and cost management related to expenditure.
· Tracking cash flow and analysing the company's financial weaknesses and strength, whilst proposing corrective actions.
· Ensure that the accurate management accounting procedures are maintained and that they also provide accurate financial records.
· Provide analytics and analysis of financial data and proposed recommendations arising from this information.
Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities · Have five years' experience in financial management accounting roles.
· Educated to certified accounting qualification level (NFQ Level 6/7 on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland QQI) in Accounting/ Business/ Commerce.
· Strong financial and commercial acumen with a well-developed understanding of financial principles.
· Advanced Financial modelling skills and experienced in developing financial analysis.

· Excellent financial forecasting skills
