The James Joyce Cultural Centre is seeking to appoint a Facility and Project Coordinator to effectively assist and support the director to deliver all operational, educational, and creative aspects of Centre activity by engaging in planning processes and by undertaking, at the direction and under the supervision of the manager, key administrative duties, tasks, and processes which underpin creativity and which are essential to good management and proper company governance.
Person Specification
Applicants will be able to demonstrate that they:
1. Have knowledge of the life and work of James Joyce and of the significance of his position in Dublin’s historic literary tradition. Prior experience working in an educational or cultural institution (e.g. museum) is desirable.
2. Have previous experience and competencies appropriate to the role of working in an administrative capacity, preferably within a public-focused educational or cultural environment. Good social media skills are desirable.
3. Have experience of office and retail administrative processes including financial controls and stock taking.
4. Have excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
5. Show adaptability and flexibility in working as a visitor services team member across the full spectrum of James Joyce Centre activity.
6. Are prepared to work over evenings, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with James Joyce Centre business needs.
Salary: The gross salary for the full-time, 39-hour week, fixed-term contract is €34,000 p.a.
