Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Positive Behaviour Support
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist in Positive Behaviour Support.
About the Role
The CNS will deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the framework for the establishment of clinical nurse specialist posts, 4th Edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008.
The CNS will provide a holistic person-centred approach to the overall care needs of the person with an intellectual disability who exhibits behaviours of concern.
Improving the person's quality of life and safety is the overarching purpose of the role.
The CNS will create opportunities for people who present with behaviours of concern to experience and participate in new life experiences.

* To expand the individual's opportunities
* To enhance the individual's quality of life
This enables the service user to meet personal outcomes and lead a more fulfilling life through choice, increased opportunity and social integration into the community.
The CNS will provide care interventions in Adult services as necessary.
Requirements:
* Professional Qualifications
* Experience
* Be registered in the Intellectual Disabilities division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) Register or be entitled to be so registered
* In exceptional circumstances, be registered in another Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives
* Have a minimum of 5 years post-registration full-time experience or an aggregate of 5 years full-time experience in the division of the register in which the application is being made
* Have successfully completed a post-registration programme of study, as certified by the education provider
* Be required to demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area
The successful candidate may be expected to engage with further studies if required, to support service delivery in accordance with their role.
