This will be a challenging and exciting role and will have full responsibility for the finance function of the Firm as well as working with the Partnership team to format and implement strategies which will facilitate business growth while maintaining the financial stability and long-term success of the Firm.Overview of ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing the finance team and implementing metrics to ensure timely and accurate completion and reconciliation of the following:Accounts PayableAccounts Receivable / Credit ControlCash & BankTimesheet RecordingAll Balance Sheet itemsReview and develop upon the current financial policies regarding:Maintaining appropriate Capital StructuresLiaising with Financial InstitutionsCashflow ManagementFee RatesFirm ProfitabilityProcurement / Expenditure Management (both capital and operational)Preparation and presentation of the detailed Annual Budget to incorporate Revenue, Operational Expenditure, Capital Expenditure and Cashflow.Responsible for ensuring the following reports and analysis are provided by the finance team on a timely basis:Presentation of monthly management accounts to the Partnership together with relevant analysis of key business ‘drivers’ which would also include the various Business Support Depts (i.e. IT, HR, Facilities/Premises & Business Development)Presentation of commentary of variance between Actual and Budgeted Revenue and Expenditure as well as providing accurate forecasting of cashflow for future periodsPresentation of commentary of the Profitability of individual Partner / Business Service ‘Lines’Reporting on compliance levels of the Firm’s Procurement PolicyAd hoc reports as requiredResponsible for managing all Financial Reporting / Payroll / Procurement IT systems to ensure that they:are appropriate for the needs of the business as well as being efficient and effectivehave the necessary reporting functionality to provide multiple differing financial reports (as maybe required by different stakeholders)allow for the development of ‘Dashboards’ for Key Financial Informationenable Partners to make informed operational & strategic decisionsResponsible for the preparation of the annual Financial Statements together with providing the necessary financial and tax information required by the Firm’s Accountants & Revenue:Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of Law Society Reports in conjunction with the Firm’s AccountantsAssist the Audit & Compliance Partner/Committee to ensure the appropriate quality & compliance controls are in placeEnsure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the finance functionStakeholder ManagementResponsible for the effective management of external relationships with, among others, the Firm’s Bankers, Accountants, Corporate Advisors as well as The Law Society of IrelandResponsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with the Firm’s PartnersResponsible for managing and motivating the members of the finance teamResponsible for implementing appropriate performance measures for the finance team and providing both formal and informal feedback on a regular basisBased on the Firm’s Strategic Objective, develop with Partners the necessary strategic and operational plans required for the delivery of this ObjectiveProvide financial guidance/leadership to the various Business Support DepartmentsProvide accurate, timely and relevant financial and non-financial information to the Managing Partner and Finance Committee enabling informed strategic decision-makingRequirementsThe successful candidate must hold/possess the following:Professional Accountancy Qualification (ACA, ACCA or CPA)Experience of working within the services sectorAt least 5 years Post Qualification ExperienceExperience within a senior finance / leadership positionDemonstrated commercial /strategic acumenDemonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholdersSalary / Remuneration PackageThe salary / remuneration package on offer is negotiable and will be commensurate with experience and expertise.Recruitment ProcessBDO have been engaged by Holmes O’Malley Sexton LLP to assist with the appointment of the Head of Finance position.
