Project Worker, Supported Housing for Youth, DublinLocation: DublinContract: Full-Time, 2 Years Fixed-TermSalary Scale: Aligned to Focus Ireland Scale(Starting Salary €36,687 - €39,856.49) The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Supported Housing for Youth Team to provide care and support for young people who have experienced homelessness to complete a program and pathway to secure and stable accommodation.
The priority target group will be young people exiting emergency accommodation .
The project will be delivered separating housing and supports with Focus Ireland providing the support and Cluid the housing.
It will consist of a combination of single occupancy and shared accommodations scattered across the four Dublin regions.The service will be based on a case management ,visiting support model.
The support offered will be based on the individual needs of each young person and include key working and independent living skills programs.
As such the caseload will be one to ten staff to young person ratio.What you will do:Work within the framework of the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland.Draw up with the young person suitable care plans to prepare and support them to be able to move towards independent living.Support young people holistically, focusing on their practical self-care needs, health, budgeting, education and training and domestic skills.
To play a part in promoting and building the confidence and self-esteem of young people.Advocate on behalf of residents for housing, social work, social welfare, education, training and legal rights.Liaise with and make referrals to relevant outside agencies.Be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of your line manager or Health & Safety RepresentativeAttend Team, Divisional and Agency meetings as required.Maintain accurate case records and statistics.Report to external stakeholders where necessary.Liaise with and inform the team Leader/Project Leader, on a regular basis, of issues arising from work with individual cases.Engage in supervision sessions on a regular basis with the Team Leader.Participate in relevant training and development courses and in project evaluation.Implement the existing policies and procedures of the project and of Focus Ireland and adhere to the Standards of Customer service.Assist in the implementation of the settlement policies and strategies of Focus Ireland.Work in close liaison with and co-operate with other Focus Ireland projects in particular Focus Housing.Undertake other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Project Leader, Section Manager or Divisional Head. What you will need:Extensive, relevant work experience working with young people in care or marginalised young people.Third Level Qualification at degree level in social care or related field.Experience of key-working clients or individual case-work.Experience of managing challenging behaviour.Full Clean drivers license and access to use of own car.Good understanding of the issues affecting young people leaving care and in aftercare.Flexibility.Understanding of Child Protection.Experience of inter-agency working.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Focus Ireland is an equal opportunities employer
