Overview: We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in facilities management, particularly within the data center sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of our facilities, managing suppliers and service providers, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and monitor the activities of suppliers and service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations while maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
* Assist with the preparation and management of operational budgets for the department and facility.
* Participate in the out-of-hours Facilities Emergency Contact rota.
* Serve as the main point of contact for all facility-related activities, including projects, fit-outs, and crisis management, ensuring effective resolution and elimination of any roadblocks.
* Foster strong relationships with clients and vendors to ensure top-quality service.
* Address minor technical repairs and serve as the initial point of contact for building issues, including out-of-hours emergencies.
* Monitor Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, warranties, Task Systems, and Asset & Life Cycle Registers.
* Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards, particularly during events, and assist with contractor supervision and documentation reviews.
* Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
* Manage financial activities, including processing Purchase Orders (POs), cost variations, and invoices, in line with company policies.
* Perform additional duties as directed by the Facilities Division Manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A qualification in Facilities Management, Property Management, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable, but not mandatory.
* An Engineering Degree or a trades background with experience in facilities, maintenance, property, or construction management is a plus.
* Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers.
* Excellent organizational skills, able to prioritize competing demands and approach problem-solving in a methodical manner.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
* Ability to work independently and maintain an organized, adaptable approach to work.
* Solution-oriented, with the capacity to resolve critical issues quickly and effectively.
* Experience in managing multiple service providers within hard services disciplines.
* Familiarity with financial management and budgeting, including cost-saving strategies.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Excellent presentation, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines, manage time efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong command of written and verbal English.
