Position Summary
The Shipping Technician I is responsible for the proper movement of finished product from production to the cooler racking for storage.
Ownership
* Complete pre-shift inspection of forklifts and submit required daily inspection paperwork.
* Ensure proper rotation of product is loaded using FIFO system.
* Operate powered or manual low-lift trucks in a safe manner.
* Inspect trailers for cleanliness based on SQF guidelines.
* Ensure all paperwork has been completed for pre/post shift activities.
* Log finished product in inventory when placed on cooler racks.
* Ensure assigned area is cleaned and sanitized per SSO guidelines.
* Ensure utilization of dock locks when loading trucks.
* Ensure all forklifts are placed on charge before leaving for the day.
* Inspect loading equipment for defects and report deficiencies to management.
* Inspect trailers to meet the required temperature of 36 degrees before loading product.
* Responsible for the distribution of product donations as requested.
* Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
* Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
* Invest in and be an example of Milo’s Responsibility commitment which includes environmental, social, and corporate governance components.
* This position has responsibilities related to Food Quality and Safety.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
* Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Applicants must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and perform basic mathematical functions.
* A valid driver’s license and a forklift and electric pallet jack certification will be required upon job placement.
* Required to use hands to handle, reach with hands and arms.
* Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
* Comfortable being exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, occasionally exposed to extreme cold.
