About the Role: The Process Scientist is responsible for the industrialization of laboratory-scale processes to ensure successful scale-up for manufacturing. This role involves developing and optimizing synthetic and analytical methods, documenting technology transfer, managing projects, and maintaining industry standards in the laboratory. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve the company’s manufacturing goals.
Responsibilities:
* Industrialize laboratory-scale processes into scalable manufacturing operations.
* Be familiar with the development and optimization of synthetic reactions and analytical methods using techniques such as GC, HPLC, UPLC, MS, FTIR, and NMR.
* Prepare and manage technology transfer documentation to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer between teams and sites.
* Write, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure process consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Manage projects related to process development, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
* Operate and manage large-scale reactors and be familiar with unit operations such as filtration and chromatography.
* Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO or GMP and adhere to safety protocols in the laboratory.
* Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to align on goals and deliverables.
Technical and Specialized Equipment:
* Gas Chromatography (GC)
* High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
* Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC)
* Mass Spectrometry (MS)
* Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
* Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR)
* Large-scale reactors and associated unit operations
Qualifications:
* BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
* 2-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or a related field.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
