About the Position
Arcadia is seeking visionary Lecturer/Advisors to join its mission of advancing intellectual development and shaping the future of academic discourse. This role provides a unique opportunity to engage in high-level teaching while mentoring researchers, ensuring the continued evolution of knowledge within an interdisciplinary, globally connected academic environment. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, Lecturer/Advisors will deliver rigorous, dynamic lectures while offering guidance to researchers, ensuring both educational excellence and high-quality academic outputs. Lecturer/Advisors will be responsible for delivering impactful lectures and providing research advisory support in a variety of formats:
* Lecturer/Advisors will deliver regular, thought-provoking lectures on advanced topics within their field of expertise. These lectures will be designed to foster critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and interdisciplinary dialogue, contributing to the broader academic community.
Research Mentorship:
* Each Lecturer/Advisor will provide mentorship to a select group of researchers, guiding their research projects and helping refine methodologies, expand theoretical frameworks, and advance their academic writing. This mentorship will be integral to the successful completion of research initiatives and publication efforts.
Each month, Lecturer/Advisors will alternate between lecturing and providing advisory support, ensuring a well-rounded and impactful contribution to both the educational and research missions of Arcadia. Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership and Vision:
* Take ownership of your teaching and mentoring responsibilities, ensuring your approach aligns with Arcadia’s commitment to academic excellence and intellectual advancement. As a Lecturer/Advisor, you will design and deliver engaging lectures and provide strategic mentorship to researchers, fostering their growth and guiding them toward producing high-quality, impactful research.
Collaboration and Guidance:
* While the role involves independent lecturing and advising, you will work closely with Arcadia’s academic team, collaborating with fellow instructors and the research editorial team to align your lectures with the broader goals of the organization. You will be expected to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange feedback, and ensure that your teaching and research mentorship contribute to the organization’s intellectual objectives.
Academic Contribution and Development:
* You will contribute to Arcadia’s educational mission by nurturing the intellectual development of members and researchers. This includes not only delivering cutting-edge lectures on a variety of topics but also providing mentorship that helps researchers refine their work, ensuring that their research aligns with Arcadia’s standards of scholarly excellence.
Skills and Competencies Required
Academic Expertise and Instructional Excellence:
* You will have substantial experience in academia, with expertise in your field of study. Your understanding of teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and research guidance will enable you to effectively lead lectures and mentor researchers.
Communication and Mentoring Skills:
* You must have strong communication skills, both in teaching and mentoring, with the ability to convey complex ideas in an accessible and engaging manner. Your ability to provide clear, constructive feedback will be essential in helping researchers develop their ideas.
Collaboration and Adaptability:
* While the role requires a degree of independence in lecturing and advising, you will be part of a collaborative academic environment. You will demonstrate the ability to work with fellow instructors, editors, and researchers to create a dynamic and evolving learning atmosphere.
Qualifications:
* A PhD in a relevant field, with a clear and cohesive academic trajectory from undergraduate through to postgraduate study (BA + MA), demonstrating a solid foundation in teaching and academic mentorship within the same or closely related discipline.
* A minimum of 3 years of experience in lecturing and/or advisory roles at university, with a proven track record in higher education or research-driven organizations.
* Proven experience in teaching, academic lecturing, or advising, with a demonstrated ability to mentor students and researchers, helping them refine their academic work and achieve scholarly goals. Previous experience in curriculum development, research guidance, or publication coaching will be highly valued.
* Strong understanding of academic pedagogies, research methodologies, and teaching techniques. Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, citation standards, peer review processes, and ethical academic practices.
* Capacity to independently lead lectures and mentor students while collaborating effectively with academic teams to ensure the success of research and educational initiatives.
* Fluency in English (CEFR C1).
* Comfortable with part-time commitment, contributing 8–10 hours (20%) per week with one month deadline for publication, with availability for remote work and flexibility in selecting your own working hours.
* A motivational and empathetic team player, with a commitment to fostering inclusivity, integrity, and excellence. Strong interpersonal skills to inspire trust and credibility within the organization.
