Our client is the leading independent provider of medical laboratory testing services in Ireland. Through their ISO 15189 accredited laboratories in Dublin, they offer over 3,500 clinical tests to provide medical professionals with actionable information vital to diagnosing, treating, monitoring and preventing human disease. They are part of an international life sciences company, providing a unique range of analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries, to make life and our environment safer, healthier and more sustainable.
They are currently seeking an experienced Account Manager with a min of 3+ years sales experience who shall report to the Head of Sales & Marketing you will become an integral part of their sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible fordriving sales of their medical laboratory services to hospitals, clinics and allied healthcare professionals throughout Ireland. The role will require a real team player with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our clients to ensure their experience of the service is industry leading.
Role/ Responsibilities:

10. Play a leading role in the strategic development of the medical pathology services offered by our client.
11. Forge strong relationships with customers through regular site visits/meetings to understand customer needs and further develop the business.
12. Represent both yourself and our client in a dignified, professional, and courteous manner to the Irish marketplace.
13. Provide the Head of Sales and Marketing with up-to-date key account activities
14. Be aware and compliant with of all the documentation related to your Department to include – Training Records, SOP’s, Forms, including reading and acknowledging required documents on QPulse.

21. Ability to successfully negotiate with hospital laboratory leaders, procurement managers, senior managers in private clinics and General Practitioners.
22. Successful completion of a formal sales training and negotiation skills programmes.
23. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Strong competency in MS Excel is important.
24. Experience with client relationship management (CRM) tools.
25. Ability to complete paperwork and all required administrative duties in a timely fashion.
26. Assist the quality department to ensure the department fulfils any related INAB requirements.
27. Attend Sales & Marketing meetings, exhibitions and conferences as and when required. These may be outside of standard working hours.
28. Be a team player at all times.
Sales Activities
29. Identify and visit existing and prospective clients with a view to selling our pathology services.
30. Provide clients with written quotations, pricing and other relevant information when necessary, in a timely fashion.
31. Conduct annual account reviews for key accounts to monitor financial and service performance across the business area.
32. Respond to sales enquiries, generate quotations, implement/update service level agreements and complete tender documents as required.
33. Effectively communicate client needs & advocate internally on their behalf.
34. Monitor competitor activity and provide regular feedback on activities that may impact on the performance of the business areas.
35. Attend Sales & Marketing meetings as and when required.
36. Assist with strategic sales plans to enhance the company brand.
37. Assist with implementation of sales and marketing strategies to raise awareness of and grow sales of our services and products.
38. Monitor progress of sales activities and provide regular feedback on progress.
39. Network with peers across industries to generate and identify business opportunities.
40. Organise and attend events and exhibitions.
Account Management & Relationships
41. Build relationships with clients through active consultation and regular communication.
42. Develop a complete understanding of the client needs and business area requirements.
43. Form relationships with key stakeholders internally and understand all areas of the business to ensure we provide the highest levels of service to our clients, ensure their needs are met and all queries are answered quickly and effectively.
Administration & Finance
44. Monitor performance against agreed budgetary targets, identify deviations, and develop strategic plans to ensure targets are met.
45. Define and agree key milestones with Head of Sales and Marketing.
46. Ensure customer contact details are up to date in all company systems.
47. Keep your prospect list updated on the CRM system and track all associated activities incl. face to face meetings, virtual meetings, calls, emails etc.
48. Assist the quality department to ensure the Business Unit complies with INAB requirements.
Education/Experience:
Minimum Qualifications required:
49. A recognised third level qualification in the biological sciences area
50. Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a related role
51. Full clean drivers’ licence.
Experience:
52. At least 3 years in direct sales and/or key account management ideally in a health services or related industry
53. Proven ability to respond successfully to commercial tenders
54. Previous experience of working in a medical laboratory would be a distinct advantage.
