We would like to invite applications for the role of Full Time, Therapy Assistant in Beaumont Lodge Transitional Care Unit, Kilmore Road, Artane, Dublin 5.
Purpose of The role The Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of and guidance of the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist to support the provision of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Services at Beaumont Lodge Transitional Care Unit.
Roles and Responsibilities Deliver an effective and efficient physiotherapy assistance service on an inpatient basis.
Assist in the transfer of patients to and from therapy.
Assist in the preparation of a treatment area i.e.
gym set up for rehab.
Assist the therapist with patients' assessment - assist patient to move, re-position/stabilise during an assessment.
Assist the therapist with treatment intervention.
Eligibility criteria Qualifications Essential: Relevant 3 rd Level Qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Post Injury Therapy, Rehabilitation or Equivalent.
1-2 Years of experience in similar post.
Desirable: In process of obtaining CORU Registration Essential skills, competencies and/or knowledge Professional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of occupational therapy services, facilities and equipment.
Ability to assess individual patient needs.
Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records.
Knowledge of a range of therapy methods and techniques. Essential: KPI's The post holder will engage in the identification and development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which are congruent with the Locations service plan targets as below: The development of Action Plans to address KPI targets.
The development of presentations to illustrate trajectories.
The development of the collation of weekly, monthly and or annual statistics as required Risk Management, Infection Control, Hygiene Services and Health & Safety The post holder will report to the Director of Clinical Services.
The management of Risk, Infection Control, Hygiene Services and Health & Safety is the responsibility of everyone and will be achieved within a progressive, honest and open environment.
The post holder must be familiar with the necessary education, training and support to enable them to meet this responsibility.
Role Requirement To be familiar with the Hand Hygiene Policies and procedures and follow the standards stipulated.
Wear enclosed, non-slip, clean shoes & clean clothing/uniform at all times while on duty.
