My Client is a leading Irish FMCG Distribution company that specializes in the Healthy Foods Space and has grown 10-15% year on year in the last 3 years. Due to continued growth and the current person relocating, they are now looking to recruit a Sales Representative to join the business.
This is a challenging and pivotal role to the Business—my client has over 5,000 products and 300 brands! (Brands come from the UK, Europe as well as here). There is never a dull day in this role! A massive selling point is Andrew – the Commercial Director – he is passionate about the business and has a proven track record in the FMCG Sector. When having a recent coffee catch up with Andrew, he said the following: “Kieran was great in the role. This role will predominantly cover the Leinster region but every 2-3 weeks there could be an overnight stay in the midlands. The 80/20 rule applies where the focus is on a certain select number of brands. In this role, you / the Sales Executive will call in to independent Health Food stores and the majority of the time the owner is in the store/working in the store. You must be calm, a good listener and a soft sell is required—at times, you are more an advisor to the customer than doing a hard sell—it is completely different to other channels. You must display empathy and an honest and open approach goes a long way. The Store Owners are very passionate about healthy living and a healthy lifestyle.”
Kieran said “Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills are key to this role as well as having the ability to take ownership and be comfortable with autonomy. We are well thought of within the Healthy Foods category; we have a really good MD in place and there are ambitious plans to double in size in the next 5 years too. Regarding targets and bonus; they are fair and attainable—Kieran obtained close to full bonus in the last 2 years.”
NB: For this role, you must have a clean driver’s license, be based in Dublin/surrounding areas, and ideally have 1-2 years sales experience. Salary is circa €35,000-40,000 with a bonus of €10,000-15,000 on top of that.
As Sales Executive, you will be responsible for:
* Ensuring customer satisfaction and developing new business leads
* Maximizing key brand awareness and communicating new opportunities to our customers
* Liaising with our customers on special offers and other promotions
* Generating growth of market share through strategic analysis of sales and opportunities
* Monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, listings etc.
* Resolving customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions
* Communicating with the Directors on all sales and operations issues
Key Requirements
* Previous experience in FMCG sales is essential and a passion for health is a big plus
* Excellent communication & customer care skills
* An ability to quickly gain an understanding of the company’s extensive product portfolio
* Third level qualification in business, marketing or sales preferable but not essential
* Full clean driving license; Fluent written and spoken English
* A passion for completing all tasks to the highest standard
* A team player with a track record of working collaboratively
* Interpersonal skills with the ability to build both internal & external relationships
* Commercial acumen with an understanding of wholesale and retail financials
* A willingness to travel within Ireland
* Experience of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
