About the role: Reporting to the Renewables Manager, this person will have responsibility for assisting with the management of the renewables business.
The renewables department in Flogas provides market services to utility-scale producers of renewable energy.
We do not develop or own renewable energy facilities.
We are a B2B service provider with a focus on commercial deal origination, purchase and trade the renewable power and gas, with the provision of commercial market services to renewable energy producers.
The PPA Analyst role is primarily a technical role, with exposure to and interaction with commercial areas of the business.
Main areas of responsibility: The purpose of this role is to facilitate and contribute to the renewables area of the business including to generate revenue and margin through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs); developing tailored new and manage services to meet the operational needs of FES' customers and renewables portfolio (PPA and biomethane); and by growing FES' PPA services capabilities.
Develop, implement, and make improvements to forecasting processes and strategies for renewables export supported by analytics and market awareness.
Manage the set up and switchover process of PPAs, dealing with all relevant internal and external stakeholders and ensuring all PPA contract obligations and processes are being adhered to.
Assist and support in the following: preparing business cases for renewable opportunities, commercial and contract negotiations, and support business and financial planning through regular and ad-hoc reporting on business line performance.
Promote FES and build and develop relationships with banks, legal advisors, industry bodies (i.e.
IWFA, IWEA, ISEA, etc.
), and strategic partners through networking events and regular meetings.
Develop a broad base of expertise (technical, operational, quality, contractual, risk & control, financial, billing, networks, marketing) in the business to support a growing and complex business line.
Work collaboratively and support colleagues in the development, selling and implementation of electricity and biomethane related offerings ensuring robust contractual frameworks and supporting process integration to maximize commercial benefit, minimize commercial risk for FES and ensure optimal process execution by FES.
Design and implement new processes and billing requirements to support new product launches.
Promote FES' power and renewables business internally and externally through presentations and other speaking opportunities; and communicate internally the opportunities and challenges as the market evolves.
Stay abreast of and ahead of industry and regulatory developments relevant to renewables and power; and actively seek to influence these developments in FES' and customers' interests.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will ideally have a 3rd level degree in a STEM or Finance discipline and will have a good knowledge or interest in power systems, energy industry and commodity markets.
This person will demonstrate a passion to succeed and the motivation to continue to learn and to adapt as the organisation grows and evolves.
The person will have good people, presentation and communication, verbal, written and numeric skills with excellent attention to detail.
They will be highly organised with an ability to multitask and prioritise.
They will be analytical and be comfortable with and capable of understanding complex technical material.
They will take ownership of analytical projects, derive workable conclusions, and use their findings to improve business processes.
They will be pro-active in their approach to problem solving, process innovation and industry networking.
