PROJECT ENGINEER

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Natural Forces Renewables Ireland is seeking a Project Engineer to fill a position on the Construction Team. Our team is responsible for the construction of renewable energy projects. This is a full-time position based either in our office in Dublin, or on our sites throughout Ireland. The primary responsibilities of the role will be:
* To support the construction team in the project management of pre-construction and construction of NFRI’s renewable energy projects in Ireland
* Work to understand the broad principles of renewable, electrical and mechanical engineering
* Support the management of active construction projects by providing safe sites, ensuring projects are built in accordance with schedules and budgets
KEY TASKS/DUTIES
* Uphold all aspects of Natural Forces Health, Safety & Environment policies, practices and programs
* Develop an understanding of the commercial structures of proposed projects including NFRI’s relationship with project partners and lenders
* Assist in project preparation including tender documents, negotiations of equipment supply contracts, warranty and maintenance
* Monitor all contractor design and construction activities and coordinate when required
* Participate in design reviews for civil and electrical
* Coordinate all stages of construction work to ensure cost, quality and schedules are maintained
* Liaise with local utilities, including attendance at meetings when required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* 2+ years experience, graduating from a post-secondary degree with background in civil, electrical, mechanical, or environmental engineering or a related discipline.
* Construction related experience considered an asset.
* Basic knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and drawings.
SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
* Passionate about safety, the environment, construction and renewable energy.
* Comfortable working long hours on a remote construction site.
* Strong communicator, verbal and written.
* Team player, capable of respectfully working with people in a variety of roles on the project site.
* Should be willing and able to climb wind turbines.
* Must have a valid driver’s license.
