Role Purpose: We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Internal Communications Manager to join our HQ Communications Management Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, this role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of our Organisational Strategic Plan and advancing the vision of our Global Communications Strategy. The Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for strengthening employee engagement with Concern's vision, mission, values, and culture. They will develop and deliver effective, measurable internal communications strategies across a range of tools and channels. This role will lead internal communications for Concern's global team of approximately 4,000 staff, spanning fundraising offices in Ireland, the UK, the US, and South Korea, as well as programme teams across 25 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Ukraine, and Haiti. The successful candidate will be supported by the wider Communications Team, including access to in-house expertise in graphic design, digital content creation, and staff event coordination. You will liaise with Communications Directorate, CEO office, HR Directorate, all Concern staff globally. Responsibilities: Lead internal communications across the organisation, including for staff in low-bandwidth and remote locations. Create regular opportunities for staff across all regions to connect, collaborate, learn, and engage. Support the roll-out of Concern's updated Policy Statement and new Organisational Strategic Plan. Develop measurable internal communications plans for key cultural change initiatives, including equality, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding, wellbeing, and systems projects. Provide strategic counsel and hands-on support to the CEO and senior management on internal communications. Collaborate across Directorates to ensure consistent internal messaging across all channels, regions, and offices. Act as content editor for Concern's SharePoint-based intranet, Concern365, ensuring timely and relevant updates and stories from programme countries and support offices. Partner with the IT team on the implementation of key digital workplace tools, including MS Teams, Viva Engage, and enhancements to Concern365. Role Holder Requirements: Essential: Three years' experience in internal communications. Proven experience of delivering successful internal communications strategies and plans. Experience working with Senior Management level colleagues including CEO level Demonstrated strategic approach to communications Education to third level. Management experience Excellent written and oral communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent relationship building skills.
