Graphics Graduate Security Research Intern
Embedded within the Client Graphics and AI Group, the Graphics Security Research team is responsible for developing custom tools and capabilities to uncover security vulnerabilities and to work with the various development teams on mitigating internally as well as externally found security vulnerabilities. Our team works across many domains, supporting both integrated as well as discrete graphics, Windows Linux, HW SW FW for all the vertical components media, 3d, compute, display, kmd. As a graphics security research intern, your primary responsibility will be to develop enhancements to existing security tools which will aid in our broader fuzzer development objectives focused on 3D/Compute related HW/SW.
The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Interacting with internal graphics ISA (Instruction Set Architecture) developing custom batch buffer submissions.
2. Planning and scheduling daily tasks and using judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices.
3. Understanding of Intel's graphics features and general threat model to ensure we are prioritizing our activities appropriately.
4. Working together with other developers on a common code base toward a common objective.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone passionate about security with familiarity in modern research techniques that is interested in graphics.
You should be progressing in a MS or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, ideally with a focus on security.
5. Working with Git/github and understanding of general source control management best practices.
6. Solid background in scripting: Python, regular expressions, interfacing with files, queries, XML JSON yaml etc.
7. High attention to detail and solid communication/presentation skills to internal and external audiences.
8. Good cross-functional teamwork.
9. Excellent problem solving skills.
Desired experience:
10. Understanding of security research activities, fuzzing, pen testing, threat modeling etc.
11. Understanding of Agile development practices.
12. Familiarity with WinDBG.
13. Familiarity with reverse engineering tools.
14. Knowledge of Graphics, Media and Display architecture.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
