Permanent Full-Time and Part-Time Contracts
Locations: Co. Kildare
Care Assistant salary scale: €16.62 to €23.17 hourly, depending on experience
Kare Adult Supports work with people over the age of 18 years. We support people to live and be active in their community through supported employment, learning and everyday activities. The Residential Service rosters will include day, night and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
1. Play an integral role in the implementation and evaluation of a person's Individual Support Plan
2. Support individuals to enhance their life by ensuring that their goals are achieved
3. Plan and support individuals in preparing healthy nutritious meals
4. Support individuals in all aspects of their daily lives. This includes personal care and supporting people who have complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
5. Support individuals with their health, ensuring they have access to all relevant healthcare professionals
6. Support individuals to play a role in the general housekeeping while ensuring a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the home
7. Maintain effective communication with families and ensure that they are involved in the total care of the individual
8. Drive Kare vehicles to support the people who use our services.
Note: While the successful candidate will be contracted to an initial location, staff may be asked to transfer locations based on the needs of the service.
Requirements
1. ESSENTIAL: Minimum Qualification: Level 5 Intellectual Disability Practice / Social Care / Community Support Worker Programme - (at least 3 modules completed but must include Intellectual Disability)
2. ESSENTIAL - A full, clean, manual Irish driving licence
3. Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
4. A very good understanding of and experience supporting people with challenging behaviours and the use of positive behaviour support plans to support individuals
5. Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, organisational & initiative skills
6. IT skills and the ability to carry out administrative tasks e.g., e-mail correspondence, report writing, use of assistive technology
7. Ability to build trusting and respectful relationships
8. Enjoy working on your own with a person with an intellectual disability
