Role Title: Clinical Specialist in Hand Therapy
Role Location: All Vhi sites
A 12 month fixed term contract position has arisen for a Clinical Specialist in Hand Therapy. The role, which is open to both occupational therapy and physiotherapy applicants, will be focused on service development and clinical supervision for all services and sites. We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about providing high quality patient-centred care.

Role Purpose:
* The Clinical Specialist will manage their own case load of patients and be available for colleagues to review complex cases in conjunction with other members of the multidisciplinary team across Vhi H&W.
* Utilise a range of approaches including splint fabrication, client education/advice, manual techniques, therapeutic exercise and adjunctive therapies in line with best evidence/practice.
* Deliver group and individual educational requirements to staff in line with clinical competencies and future needs.
* Complete mentoring sessions with hand therapy colleagues to help them achieve their goals and progress their hand therapy knowledge and skills.
* Ensure staff stay up to date with new Clinical Guidelines, new research and best national and international standards of practice.
* Utilise the benefits of information technology to improve productivity, efficiencies and decision making.
* Communicate and work in co-operation with other team members in providing an integrated quality service, taking the lead role as required.
Education & Experience:
* Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU and the ISCP.
* OR
* Hold an Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the Occupational Therapy Registration Board at CORU and the AOTI.
* Have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in Hand Therapy.
* Post graduate qualification/ Masters degree.
* Experience in clinical supervision and teaching.
* Demonstrated alignment to Vhi values.
Skills and Abilities:
* High level of professional and personal integrity.
* Experience of developing, applying and reviewing an evidence-based approach to decision making.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
* Exceptional planning and time management with capacity to effectively prioritise tasks and manage multiple complex tasks and projects.
* Ability to analyse and interpret data to measure success of health and wellness initiatives.
