Senior Civil Engineer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Galway.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of civil engineering projects. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
* Design and oversee the construction of infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and other civil works.
* Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and support staff.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and local authorities to coordinate project activities.
* Prepare and review engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
* Ensure that projects are completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
* Oversee the preparation and submission of planning applications and permit approvals.
Requirements:
* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (Chartered Engineer status or working towards is a plus).
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on infrastructure and construction projects.
* Preferable experience with a Tier 1 Contractor in Ireland.
* Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
* Proven experience in managing and delivering projects from concept to completion.
* Proficiency in using engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, etc.).
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams and build client relationships.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Full clean driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
* Experience with environmental and sustainability considerations in civil engineering.
* Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and project management software.
* Experience in managing budgets and client-facing roles.
