Our Company
BBPM Life dac is an Irish company based in Ireland since December 1999. The company is authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland to sell class I and III assurance products in some European Community on a freedom of service basis. The company continues to develop new products for new and existing distribution channels in the European market. The Company's products are currently distributed in Italy through Banco BPM (the third Italian banking Group).
The Role
We are looking for an AML and Compliance Assistant to join our Company on a full-time and permanent contract. This is a role with the possibility to work from home after completion of a 6-month probation period. You will play a critical role in the Compliance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the development and maintenance of Compliance and AML policies, procedures, standards and risk assessment framework;
* Take ownership of the Company’s AML and Compliance systems, ensuring their continuous development and optimization;
* Assist in providing specialist advice on complex matters to business functions to ensure Compliance and AML requirements are fully met;
* Participate in projects and implementations deriving from changes in the regulatory framework;
* Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and provide specialty guidance and opinions as needed;
* Carry out periodical monitoring activities on business units and third parties to ensure compliance with applicable regulations;
* Perform on a daily basis customer due diligence screening activities as per Company’s policies and procedures and report on results in a structured, complete, precise and timely way;
* Carry out investigations on politically exposed persons (“PEPs”) and high-risk clients/third parties and provide results and opinions to the Head of Anti Money Laundering and Senior Management in a structured, complete, precise and timely way;
* Receive and manage suspicious transaction reporting and filing reports to the MLRO and to relevant authorities (Garda, UIF, Revenue) as requested;
* Carry out AML risk assessments;
* Escalate KYC/AML risks and issues as requested in a proactive and timely manner;
* Develop relevant AML KPI metrics and report on data and numbers as required;
* Draft concise and exhaustive AML reports and present these to the MLRO if required;
* Assist the MLRO in drafting the AML report to be presented to the board of Directors;
* Participate in ad-hoc projects as requested;
* Draft opinions if required;
* Assist the MLRO to provide training and awareness activities to employees, senior management, and board of directors.
Skills and Experience
* 1+ years working in an AML role and Compliance, ideally in a life insurance company or other financial institution;
* An in-depth understanding of AML laws and regulations;
* Strong communication, organizational and logical skills;
* Ability to express opinions in a concise, logical and accurate way;
* Good knowledge of the Office 365 package (e.g. Excel);
* Accurate and proactive attitude;
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment;
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges;
* Ability to self-motivate and work under pressure to tight deadlines;
* Strength of character and a willingness to individually challenge;
* Willingness to take responsibilities and grow fast in the Company;
* Fluency in Italian and English is a must.
Qualifications
* Relevant 3rd level Degree (Business, Finance, Law or equivalent) and/or Compliance qualification or similar;
* Certification in AML or Compliance (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of the Office 365 package (e.g. Excel);
