We have an opportunity for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join Italicatessen.

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the role of Assistant Warehouse Manager is to assist in the management and monitoring of all warehouse operations, utilizing staff in different shifts to ensure completion of daily functions in an efficient manner. Duties will also include administration, compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant Health & Safety legislation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensures that relevant warehouse activities and stock control procedures are routinely practiced.
* Defines and prioritizes work tasks and leads the warehouse team(s) in task accomplishment.
* Ensure deployment of warehouse best practices, e.g. optimisation of picking face location and pick paths based on volumes.
* Communicates / motivates the warehouse team to ensure orders are completed and shipped on time.
* Ensures that staff performance records are actively maintained and that all performance issues are remedied.
* Provides feedback to team members in relation to their performance on an ongoing basis and completes a formal periodic performance appraisal with staff.
* Promotes training and development. Trains and provides knowledge to the warehouse and administration teams to execute tasks efficiently and accurately and ensures all training records are kept up to date.
* Ensures all new colleagues receive the appropriate training and support to commence their role.
* Ensures new colleagues are trained adequately in Health and Safety and safe working practices.
* Communicates with management in relation to external training required for new starters.
* Addresses any disciplinary matters with the HR Manager and actively participates in this process.
* Liaises with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth running of all aspects of the warehouse.
Education/Skills/Experience:
* At least 3 years’ previous warehouse experience
* Strong IT literacy.
* Experience with warehouse scanning/voice systems and allocation of team tasks / production of dashboards from the scanning system.
* Organised, attention to detail and clear communication skills are pre-requisites for this role.
* Ability to plan, organise and coordinate activities in a fast-moving work environment.
* Ability to motivate and engage a team.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety is essential.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
