Job Application Quality Control Inspector/Technician ProconPumps Europe formally known as Standex Ireland has been a leading employer in Mountmellick since 1978 producing precision rotary vane and gear pumps for a range of industries. The successful candidate will be a key member of our quality team with a range of knowledge and experience reporting to the Quality Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the quality of a wide range of incoming raw material, as well as in-process samples and final products.. This is a full-time, permanent, in-house position. ProconPumps Europe Quality Control Team ensure product and/or product components comply with specifications and quality standards testing and inspecting products against performance criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release. Reporting to the Quality Manager they will be responsible for ensuring that materials and parts are adequately inspected and/or tested to ensure they meet specifications and are fit for use. The position also requires strong technical knowledge to read component drawings and have the ability to measure these characteristics using relevant inspection equipment. Job Responsibilities Read and understand/interpret drawings, specifications and established standard operating procedures. Determine acceptance or unacceptable material. Conduct dimensional, visual, and functional inspections of raw material and products to ensure they meet specified standards including first off inspections, in-process inspections, and final batch release inspections. Ensure incoming materials are labelled appropriately prior to transferring to stock release. Review incoming inspection activity with a view to streamline and offer continuous improvement ideas. Manage and control non-conforming products in line with Standard Operating Procedures. Enter data into Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems. Take ownership of asset care and ensure that the asset (instruments/equipment) used for inspection are calibrated, in good working order, and readily available for use including external/third-party certification. Liaise with the quality, engineering and supply chain departments with regards to rejected material. Assist with investigations into customer complaints. Support the organisation in achieving Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets Ensure and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Collaborate with production operators to ensure quality requirements are understood and the quality programme is effectively implemented. Prepare samples for customer review. Assist the QA Manager with other duties in the Quality Control Department as required. Key Requirements Excellent attention to detail Level 7 technical qualification in mechanical engineering or similar discipline. Good working knowledge of GMP practices, Knowledge of the use of inspection Equipment including CMM Strong communication skills. Self-motivated and an ability to take ownership of issues as they arise Previous experience or proven ability in inspecting finished parts and previous experience working with engineering part drawings.
