Key Responsibilities:
1. Advise the business on insurance requirements, covering day-to-day operations, construction, development, and trading activities.
2. Provide advice on insurance-related terms within contracts, particularly for construction and operation of renewable energy projects (solar and battery storage).
3. Lead discussions with insurers, brokers, and other stakeholders to secure optimal coverage.
4. Evaluate risk transfer options and balance major insurance coverage with cost-effective self-insurance.
5. Engage with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure insurance needs are met.
6. Act as a point of escalation for critical claims with financial or reputational risk.
7. Ensure that contractors and third-party consultants are carrying adequate insurance coverage when working on our clients' projects.
Key Requirements:
1. Experience in corporate insurance, particularly in areas like construction, renewable energy, or engineering.
2. A relevant third-level qualification in Business, Insurance, or related fields.
3. ACII Qualification (Chartered Insurance Risk Manager/Practitioner) is highly desirable.
4. Familiarity with insurance markets and emerging products.
5. Expertise in managing risk across multiple jurisdictions.
6. Previous experience in the renewable energy sector, with a particular focus on construction and engineering insurance, would be a distinct advantage.
7. Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance risks and costs effectively.
