My client is expanding its Private Equity Department and they are seeking a Private Equity Senior Fund Accountant Manager to work remotely in Ireland. The Private Equity team services a diverse portfolio of private equity, real estate, and hybrid fund structures, working closely with clients to develop bespoke technology solutions and service models that support unique structures and operating models. This department addresses the evolving needs of the asset management industry, offering dynamic opportunities for growth and advancement.
Role Overview
You will oversee all aspects of NAV calculation for private equity funds. This role provides strategic direction and leadership for assigned fund groups and contributes to the development of systems, procedural improvements, and operational enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Strategy:
o Provide leadership and strategic oversight for designated fund accounting teams.
o Collaborate with managers, directors, and managing directors to develop service offerings and uphold high-quality standards.
o Actively participate in new client meetings, presenting solutions for fund structures, software capabilities, and private equity accounting practices tailored to client needs.
* Client and Service Management:
o Manage multiple client relationships, ensuring strong communication and satisfaction.
o Take full responsibility for NAV production, including fee and waterfall calculations, capital calls, distributions, investor statements, profit and loss allocations, and documentation review.
o Respond to ad hoc client requests and assist in resolving complex accounting challenges.
* Operational Excellence:
o Ensure the private equity accounting team operates within a well-defined, documented, and tested control environment.
o Drive ongoing improvements to workflows and procedures in response to evolving regulatory and client requirements.
o Oversee the preparation and review of financial and regulatory reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Team Development and HR Support:
o Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations within the private equity team, fostering a collaborative environment and supporting team growth.
o Act as a mentor and resource for team members, supporting their professional development and addressing any issues in conjunction with HR and senior leadership.
o Take ownership of education and training within the team to ensure knowledge sharing and skill enhancement.
* Collaboration and Relationship Building:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, auditors, and legal counsel.
o Collaborate effectively with Fund Accounting, Investor Services, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Compliance departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
o Play a key role in onboarding new clients, facilitating their integration and aligning services with the client’s specific requirements.
Education and Experience:
* Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business (minimum 2.2 honours).
* Experience: Proven experience in private equity fund accounting, with capability in managing teams of up to 30 people and servicing multiple clients with varied deadlines.
