Guest Relations
1. To greet guests in a warm, friendly and courteous fashion and tend to them in a professional manner.
2. To present guests with menus and to ensure that orders are taken efficiently and served according to Company standard.
3. To answer the telephone and take reservations as per Company standard.
4. To handle any guest complaints in a professional and prompt manner with the support of your Manager/Supervisor.
Leadership
1. To lead your team by example and to display passion and optimism.
2. To conduct probation reviews and one to one meetings with team members within the appropriate timeframes.
3. To accurately complete probation review and one to one meeting forms and submit to HR.
Teamwork
1. To develop a strong working relationship with all colleagues in your department and all other departments.
2. To ensure clear lines of communication between your department and related departments.
3. To balance team and individual responsibilities and to provide support as required to fellow colleagues.
Service Standards/Set-Up Procedures
1. To ensure the smooth running of the F&B department ensuring the highest levels of guest service and guest satisfaction.
2. To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all standards and delivery of same within the F&B department.
3. To conduct a team briefing on commencement of each shift in preparation of service. Ensure a detailed and full handover is communicated to you. Ensure team members are aware of their responsibilities.
4. To communicate any relevant information to related departments.
5. Preparation for breakfast/lunch, dinner and events as per hotel standard. Ensuring mise en place is prepared.
6. Responsible for replenishment of crockery, cruets, cutlery, condiments.
7. To ensure that service stations are prepared, stocked and ready for service.
8. To re-set tables for next service.
9. To ensure F&B department is presented in a clean manner.
10. To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all the procedures of the F&B department.
11. To ensure an efficient service with minimum delay or wastage.
12. To ensure dishes leaving the kitchen are according to our standards of presentation.
13. To replenish buffet areas as required.
14. To assign duties to employees.
15. Liaise with the Head Chef to ensure smooth service between the Kitchen and the F&B department.
16. Liaise with conference co-ordinator/tour leaders and conference organisers to ensure smooth handling of large groups and a high level of prompt courteous service.
17. To be aware and analyse all forthcoming business on a regular basis and be aware of all daily and future business requirements.
18. To actively participate in all training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance levels.
