Accounting Clerk
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk/ Administrator to join our client's supportive and busy office environment.
Duties:
* Provide clerical and accounting support to the accounts department.
* Accurately prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
* Post entries to the general ledger and prepare statements.
* Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
* Enter key financial transactions daily into accounting software (e.g. Sage).
* Assist project teams and QS with paperwork and documentation.
* Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
* Maintain an efficient filing system.
* Chase supplier invoices and ensure all documentation is up to date.
* Answer incoming calls professionally and build strong relationships with over 250 suppliers.
* Assist in maintaining ISO9001 training records and documentation.
* Ensure up-to-date insurance documentation is held for all suppliers.
* Manage and order stationery, ensuring all site manager requirements are met.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in an accounting role, ideally within the construction industry.
* Proficiency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software.
* Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
* High accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong numerical aptitude and data entry skills.
* Well organised and capable of multitasking.
* Friendly, professional telephone manner.
