For more information, visit Job description: Laboratory Technician Virginia, Co Cavan (Fixed Term Contract 9 Months) Role Summary A vacancy has arisen for a Laboratory Technician at Tirln Virginia on a fixed term contract basis.
The position will report to the QC Manager and will be primarily based in the chemical and physical testing laboratory with cover for other laboratory activities on site.
The role will involve testing at all stages of production raw materials, in-process and finished goods.
This position is part of the laboratory shift rota covering seven days per week.
Key Responsibilities Carry out testing at all stages of production raw materials, in-process and finished goods.
Compliance to test methods, standards and sampling frequencies as defined by plant and laboratory procedures Recording of all test data on site LIMS system Labware together with associated LIMS administrative tasks.
Flag all non-conformances or potential non-conformances in a timely manner Successful implementation and participation in both internal proficiency testing Excellent completion of all documentation, paper and electronic.
Day to day maintenance of laboratory hygiene standards Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives Equipment cleaning, maintenance and calibration Cross-Training, Development & Project Work, Lab 3M Board Duties Qualifications Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or equivalent Quality related third level science qualification Experience: Must have a flexible and dynamic attitude to work, with strong organisational skills Strong communication with good interpersonal and team participation skills Good IT literacy i.e.
