Our Cork client, a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Traded Goods Buyer to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Management: Purchase goods, materials, and services in alignment with sales forecasts and stock levels, utilising the SAP system to streamline processes.
2. Supplier Relations: Lead efforts to resolve product availability issues with suppliers, ensuring that constraints are addressed promptly or escalated as necessary.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders across various departments to maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction.
4. Administrative Excellence: Manage all related processes including purchase orders, subcontract operations, sales orders, order confirmations, invoicing, and stock adjustments.
5. Negotiation Participation: Engage in supplier negotiations to establish favourable commercial agreements that support organisational goals.
6. Data Maintenance: Keep item data updated within the SAP system to ensure accuracy and availability.
7. Performance Monitoring: Analyse and optimise supplier delivery performance, addressing discrepancies, updating delivery dates, and escalating issues as needed.
8. Inventory Optimisation: Analyse purchasing parameters to maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure the availability of parts.
Requirements:
1. Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a purchasing role is required. Experience in engineering or manufacturing environments is a distinct advantage.
2. Qualifications: A recognised qualification in a related discipline is necessary.
3. ERP Proficiency: Experience with SAP Hana or an equivalent ERP system is essential.
4. Self-Motivated: A highly motivated self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
5. Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
6. Organisational Skills: Excellent planning, scheduling, negotiating, and organisational skills are a must.
