Assistant Sports Development Officer - Grade IV (1 Year FTC)
The Assistant Sports Development Officer is a key post within the Sports and Sustainability Section of Cork City Council. The section sits within the Directorate of Community, Culture and Placemaking (CCP).
This role will involve working with the Sports Development Officer to encourage sport and physical activity participation across the city, targeting key groups such as disadvantaged young people, travellers, migrant communities, direct provision, and women in sport.
Additionally, the role will require collaboration with other staff in the Sports Section, such as the Rugby Development Officer, to use rugby as a means of promoting social inclusion through sport, particularly among young people.
The position entails a mixture of sports coaching and administrative work aimed at developing and implementing programmes and initiatives that increase active participation and learning through sport.
