This position requires a results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment and has a deep understanding of the construction industry.Key Responsibilities:Sales Leadership & StrategyLead, mentor, and develop sales teams to achieve targets and foster a high-performance culture.Develop and implement effective sales strategies that drive both top-line and bottom-line growth.Monitor and analyse sales performance, providing guidance and support where necessary to meet company objectives.Set ambitious sales targets, track KPIs, and ensure accountability across the sales function.Business Development & PartnershipsIdentify and capitalise on new business opportunities across both B2C and B2B markets.Foster and maintain relationships with key industry partners, suppliers, and clients to drive strategic collaborations.Negotiate and manage commercial partnerships to maximise revenue potential.Build relationships with major construction contractors, developers, architects, and other key stakeholders.Market & Product ExpansionLead the exploration of new products and services to diversify the company’s offerings and meet evolving market demands.Identify new markets for expansion, both within Ireland and potentially abroad.Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring the company is positioned to seize new opportunities as they arise.Oversee the development of product marketing strategies to support sales efforts.Innovation & Business TransformationDrive innovation within the sales process, using new technologies, digital tools, and industry best practices to streamline operations.Challenge traditional approaches and encourage innovative thinking within the sales and business development teams.Evaluate existing business models and recommend improvements to increase profitability and efficiency.Ensure the business is continuously improving its competitive advantage through innovative service offerings.Commercial Planning & ReportingDevelop and manage the commercial strategy in line with the company’s long-term goals.Collaborate with the executive leadership team to align sales objectives with company-wide goals.Prepare regular reports for senior management on sales performance, market trends, and business opportunities.Monitor financial performance and oversee budgeting and forecasting for the commercial division.Client Relationship ManagementBuild and nurture strong relationships with key customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.Oversee the management of key accounts and ensure long-term partnerships are developed and maintained.Handle escalated customer issues, providing solutions in a timely and effective manner.Skills & Experience Required:Proven experience as a Commercial Director or in a similar senior sales role within the construction, building materials, or related industries.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop high-performing teams.In-depth knowledge of both B2B and B2C sales strategies and tactics.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships and negotiate high-value contracts.A strong understanding of the building materials market, including industry trends, competitors, and customer needs.Excellent business acumen and a strategic mindset with the ability to think outside the box.Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions and provide actionable insights.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders and clients.A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.What’s on Offer:Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.Car Allowance and other benefits.Opportunity to shape the future of a market-leading business in the construction industry.A dynamic and supportive working environment with opportunities for professional development.If you are a driven, strategic leader ready to make a significant impact in the construction sector, we want to hear from you!
