Aer Lingus is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for our 2025 Aircraft Engineer Apprentice Programme.
Our Aircraft Engineer Programme is run in conjunction with SOLAS - Further Education & Training Authority in Ireland, Shannon Training Centre, Technology University Dublin (TUD) and South East Technological University (SETU).
This is a 4 year programme during which you will participate in both classroom and hands-on learning.
Upon successful completion of this programme you will qualify for an EASA B1 or B2 licence allowing you to grow your career with Aer Lingus.
You will begin the apprenticeship in Dublin before spending approximately 9 months in Shannon.
After this, you will return to Dublin where you will be working on our aircraft and studying in TUD or SETU to complete your modules for your EASA licence.

Candidates will be asked for results transcripts at a later stage in the process.
Grade C/O5 or higher at Ordinary Level in the Junior Certificate* (or equivalent) in the following subjects: (i) English (ii) Mathematics (iii) Science* (iv) Any two other subjects.
Grade H6 or higher on Higher Level papers is acceptable.
*If you have not attained the required grade in Science, the following is acceptable:
Junior Certificate – Technology, Technical Graphics, Materials Technology (Wood) or Metal Work (Materials and Technology).
OR
Grade O6/D or higher at Ordinary Level in the Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) in one sitting in the following subjects: (i) English, (ii) Mathematics, (iii) Science* (iv) Any two other subjects.
*Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physics and Chemistry, Applied Mathematics or Home Economics.
If you have not obtained the required grade in any of the above Science subjects, the following is acceptable at Leaving Certificate Level: Construction Studies, Design and Communication, Graphics, Engineering and Technology.
Desirable CriteriaGrade O5 or higher at Ordinary Level in the Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) in mathsDemonstrate a strong technical and mechanical interestA high level of enthusiasm and commitment to the programme for its 4 year durationExcellent communication skills both written and verballyProven ability to work on your own initiative while contributing effectively as part of a teamExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationshipsClosing Date: 28th February 2025.
