Process Commissioning Engineer
We are looking for a skilled Process Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Kilkenny. This is a permanent, full-time role that involves working on the commissioning of water treatment equipment at municipal and industrial levels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including coagulation, flocculation, clarification process, filtration, UV disinfection, chlorine disinfection, conventional activated sludge, and SBRs.
* Decide on treatment process design and recommend solutions to engineering problems.
* Handle various chemicals and high-pressure systems, working safely during commissioning and testing phases.
* Carry out instrumentation analysis and calibrations, laboratory analysis, jar testing, and propose chemical dose rates to optimize processes.
* Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain air compressors, sludge pumps, and chemical pumps.
* Capture data, develop dashboards, and write standard operating procedures, manuals, and training documents.
* Lead kickoff meetings, verify site layouts, and prepare commissioning activities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Industrial Engineering (required), Master's degree in Water Treatment (desirable).
* Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical process, with good understanding of water treatment and wastewater treatment processes.
* Proficient in PLC and SCADA systems, with practical knowledge in electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, and control.
* Training and experience in working at height and in confined spaces using permit and LOTO systems.
* Excellent analytical skills, ability to make decisions under stress, and solve technical problems creatively.
* Able to work independently, follow instructions, and provide timely updates and feedback.
* Available to travel up to 100% of the time, with a full clean driving license and own transport.
