Description
Responsible for all aspects of data center design & construction for the respective project from project inception, through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and hand-over of an operating facility, which could include ground-up construction, fit-outs, remodels, etc. Responsible for driving a safe, quality-first culture, ensuring that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed. Ensuring that internal controls are adhered to at each step of the process through effective contract administration including generation, review, management, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation.
Responsibilities
Project Management
1. Leading a team of PMs on multiple construction projects in northern Europe.
2. Lead by example on safety, standards, and culture
3. Manage and monitor project progress, quality, and compliance with building regulations.
4. Ensuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectations.
5. Overview of project risk registers.
Vendor Relations
6. Direct external vendors per project comprising general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc.
7. Contributes to establishing and maintaining high value relationships.
Training Programs
8. Participates in training programs and ensuring developing teams skills.
Contract Administration
9. Manages contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation.
10. Liaising with local authorities and relevant State agencies and departments.
Leadership
11. Coordinates all internal and external project team members including internal Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial, and IT/Network support teams.
12. Leading by example with strategy and structure.
Policy & Procedure Development
13. Manages to maintain best-in-class policies and procedures.
14. Manages project closure, handover, and lessons learned processes are established and implemented.
Qualifications & Skills
15. HNC/HND or equivalent in construction, construction project management, and /or Services engineering or with equivalent experience.
16. Proven years of experience in project and construction management that will include critical Infrastructure for Data Centers, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or similar environments.
17. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the EMEA.
18. Customer focus and excellent soft skills.
19. Self-motivated and flexible and creative, solving day to day delivery problems that require Director escalation in a fast-paced industry.
20. In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practice.
21. Establishing project roadmaps and its verification.
22. Being decisive and persistent in closing out issues- keeping your promise.
23. Experienced in Construction procurement methodologies.
24. MS Office including MS Project, Excel, and Visio skills and also applying additional Equinix platforms.
