Senior Ecologist Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team in a hybrid model of work. This role offers nationwide options and flexibility.
Responsibilities:
* Manage individual contracts to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services.
* Provide expert ecological input for various projects.
* Plan, conduct, and supervise site ecological surveys and fieldwork.
* Develop and monitor Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Undertake Appropriate Assessments and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reporting requirements.
* Prepare technical reports and other deliverables.
* Ensure quality, including attention to detail and accuracy, timely delivery of contracts, and continuous improvement.
* Participate as an expert witness in Oral Hearings.
* Build strong relationships with clients and attend meetings when necessary.
Requirements:
* Degree in ecology or related subject.
* Minimum seven years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy.
* Membership in CIEEM, CIWEM, or equivalent professional body.
* Experience in the oral hearing process and as an expert witness.
* Detailed knowledge of wildlife and conservation legislation within Ireland.
* Excellent technical report writing skills.
* Experience in preparing and monitoring Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
* Fully licensed driver.
