Operations Manager Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team and oversee the day-to-day running of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting Contracts Managers, Site Supervisors & Foremen in delivering site operations
* BUILDING AND MAINTAINING POSITIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS WITH CONTRACTED BODIES/BOARDS
* Meeting with Contracted bodies/boards on a regular basis to establish strong lines of communication
* Closing down jobs to the highest quality and deadline
* Ensuring operational staff are focused on efficiently managing jobs
* Successfully resourcing direct workers and sub-contractors
* Ensuring workflow on all sites is moving, ongoing and at a steady pace
* Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with staff, sub-contractors and clients
* Compiling performance checks and reports to monitor site performance
* Assessing staff training needs and directing individuals towards relevant training
* Monitoring spend and ensuring cost effectiveness
* Managing HR requirements and implementing statutory legislation and company policies
* Acting as focal point for direct staff and sub-contractors to report to
* Delivering targets set by Contracts Manager and monitoring progress
Requirements:
* Solution-focused approach
* 3-5 years experience in a similar role at middle management level in the construction industry
* Proven track record in managing multiple projects with operational staff
* Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with KPI pressures
* Strong people management experience and excellent communication skills
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
* A proactive and flexible working approach
Desirable Qualifications:
* Construction-related qualification (QS/commercial background)
