Reinsurance Accountant Job Description
About the Role
Sanderson is partnering with a leading provider of reinsurance solutions to find a highly motivated Reinsurance Accountant to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all accounting aspects of assigned reinsurance contracts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
* Verify underwriting data for quota share and excess of loss contracts.
* Maintain accuracy of premium information on excess of loss contracts.
* Oversee quota share programs, including bordereau reporting, claims payments, and cash allocation.
* Monitor aging of accounts receivable and manage collection efforts.
* Liaise with brokers and underwriters to resolve queries and address outstanding receivables.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
* 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
* Ability to read and understand reinsurance contracts.
* Knowledge of accounting for quota share and excess of loss contracts.
* Experience with underwriting systems and financial reporting.
Favorable Skills
* Fluency in English is required; additional language skills in French, Spanish, or other languages are a plus.
