Position Description
The role of the Supervisor includes responsibility for delivery of project work as assigned in the areas of Network Projects, from 38kV to 400kV. This will involve HV substation work and some elements of underground cable works, overhead line work and/or other work streams as required. These roles play an important part in working with the teams to deliver on ESB’s Net Zero Strategy and on the government Climate Action Plan.
The Networks Projects Delivery team are specifically responsible for project execution from the point when the capital expenditure has been approved through to asset handover to Network Assets. This includes energisation dates, landowner management, resourcing, materials, quality, safety, commercial management and realisation of the business cases.
Networks Projects Delivery provides assurance that contractors deliver on their contractual commitments and works in close partnership with Network Assets and Network Customer Delivery in the delivery of these major projects and there is a consistent and repeatable approach to major projects to ensure the best outcome for ESB.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitating the delivery of several projects, including planning, organizing, directing and controlling the projects
* Interfacing with local network controllers, delivery teams, materials/stores, and other suppliers/stakeholders
* Managing landowners and other local stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects
* Scheduling project work and tracking and reporting on progress and performance
* Managing productivity and performance of resources tasked with delivery of the projects
* Assisting with and reporting on project costs
* Ensuring a safe working environment for staff, contractors and the public and assessing and reporting on quality of tasks and work during construction
* Managing contractors (subcontractors including interfaces with internal teams)
Experience and Qualifications
* At least 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the delivery of substation works
* Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
* Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
* Working knowledge of substation construction
* Project Management Experience
* Experience of Quality Management
* Experience in Project Delivery
* Knowledge of ESB Networks structure and operation experience in working and delivering on the transmission and distribution networks
Location
The role may require a significant amount of travel (often at short notice) throughout Ireland. This role will be working on projects located in both Munster and Leinster.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. €57,000 to €67,000 per annum
