The Sustaining Program Manager position is within our Infectious Disease (ID) business unit located in Galway, Ireland. This role oversees the end-to-end program management of on-market changes. The Sustaining Program Manager reports directly to the Sustaining Manager within the Program Management Office (PMO).
Responsibilities and Duties
* Leadership Role: Acts as a global leader for cross-functional project teams, managing all activities from ideation through product launch execution for high-priority products.
* Sustaining Activities: Has primary responsibility for leading program management efforts for on-market sustaining activities in the Infectious Diseases portfolio, including determining business cases for requested on-market changes, budgets, scope, and risks for future and existing platforms, products, and features.
* Program Planning and Tracking: Translates strategies into program/project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements; continually tracks progress against those plans.
* Reporting and Governance: Responsible for all reporting activities associated with programs, collects and collates inputs from cross-functional teams to support project reviews with leadership and relevant stakeholders, determines and manages appropriate governance structure for projects/programs.
* Risk Management and Communication: Guides functional workstream leads (project managers) to identify and escalate project risks and communicate status to internal and external stakeholders, establishes and leads proactive, transparent, and effective communications cadence.
* Capacity Assessment and Coaching: Completes capacity assessment (people, financial measures) and ability to meet plans and timelines, highlights gaps and resolves with functional leaders, coaches and mentors indirect reports to ensure comprehensive, integrated program strategy.
* Continuous Improvement and Training: Drives continuous improvement and seeks regular feedback from leadership and stakeholders, translates strategies into program/project plans, ensures cross-functional members work as a "team" focused on business unit goals, identifies and escalates project risks.
Requirements
* Education: A bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, science, IT or equivalent business disciplines.
* Experience: 7 or more years of experience in Project Management, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or related function, preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical or consumer products.
Preferred Qualifications
* Certifications: One or more professional certifications or equivalent experience (e.g., PMP).

Travel Expectations
Ability to travel approximately 10-15%, including internationally.
