As an electrical project engineer, you will work in the HVDC service organisation and will primarily be responsible for working at the East West Interconnector along with other Hitachi Energy HVDC customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland but primarily the Portan HVDC Converter Station.
Duties will include supporting all aspects of the Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) contracts of new and existing client sites.
You will work closely with the local Service Team and our support partners to provide high-level engineering support to our 1st & 2nd line support engineers.
You will also provide 1st line support along with maintenance & repair services for the EWIC LTSA.
This 1st line support will require 24/7/365 on-call on a 1 week in 4 rota with a fast response time to site.
You'll make an impact by maintaining a strong relationship with our valued customers, supporting all aspects of the LTSA contracts of new and existing client sites, and providing engineering and technical support for the HVDC Service team in the UK & Ireland.
Working together with the Operations manager in the Development & Competency Management planning of personnel including training and certification of support staff ensuring we have the proper, skilled, and competent staff in place.
You are expected to attend Factory System Tests (FST) when requested.
Responsibility of Maintenance Management system and development of maintenance procedures to the local regulatory requirements.
You will facilitate availability reporting & Cigre reporting.
You will work closely with the HSEQ advisor to develop, review and improve existing and new procedures and policies.
Your background:
An undergraduate Engineering degree with 2+ years relevant experience in HV power systems.
Maintenance / fault finding experience with HV and LV equipment.
Experience in delivering technical reports and fault analysis.
Experience working with maintenance management systems and creating detailed work packs.
Experience creating, reviewing and approving high-level policy and procedural documents.
An ability to be able to present detailed training and technical talks.
Ideal candidate has good communication, the ability to work under pressure, initiative and strong team player.
Fluent written & spoken English.
A full clean driving license with access to a car.

Location
This position will be based in Portan HVDC Converter Station, Co Meath Red Road, Batterstown, Co Meath.
Travel to other link sites may be required with this role.
