Description
BDO Ireland is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated HR Generalist to join our HR team. As a HR Generalist at BDO Ireland, you will play a crucial role in our HR department, serving as a first point of contact for over 500 employees in our Dublin, Limerick, and Cork offices. The HR Generalist will play a crucial role in various HR operations functions, including onboarding and offboarding, performance management, benefits administration and compliance, and much more. In this role, you will report to the Head of People and Culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advice to employees on HR policies & procedures.
* Act as a first point of contact for employee queries.
* Manage the onboarding and offboarding of employees.
* Manage and facilitate our new hire inductions, liaise with support services to ensure a streamlined onboarding experience for new starters.
* Manage employee leave and absence management.
* Oversee the employee Wellbeing agenda partnering with external providers, coordinating and promoting events.
* Manage employee exam cycle.
* Manage and support employees with visa and work permits applications.
* Manage and support with HRIS and HR Metrics reporting.
* Manage and lead the preparation of monthly payrolls.
* Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure that legislative requirements and best practice are adhered to.
* Remain up to date with current employment legislation, initiatives and HR best practices.
* Manage the employee benefits administration.
* Assist with the annual performance and salary reviews.
* Ensure ongoing maintenance of HR Analytics dashboard.
* Provide support for HR-wide initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or any other related field.
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an HR generalist role or a similar position.
* Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law and GDPR.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
* Ability to multitask.
* Strong administration and organisational skills.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
