Overview
The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities through four main functions: ensuring effective relationship management of existing clients, seeking and onboarding new clients, facilitating/attending networking events, and coordinating communications around key projects. The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities in their territory, actively targeting end-users, project managers, quantity surveyors, and other professional consultants. The SBDM is responsible for educating their target audience on the products and services that Humanscale offers.
Responsibilities
* Educating, marketing, and selling the value of ergonomic workplace solutions to end-users, partners, project managers, quantity surveyors, and other professional consultants such as ergonomists and occupational health professionals.
* Maintain appropriate networking activity levels; minimum 10 high-level client appointments per week.
* Develop a business plan with management for weekly, monthly, and quarterly strategic objectives.
* Facilitate networking activities and events, and introductory meetings for prospective clients.
* Identify and present relevant differentiators, added value components, and unique opportunities for successful project positioning of Humanscale.
* Seek out, comprehend, and effectively communicate key client motivating factors that lead them to choose Humanscale over competitors.
* Sit on industry boards, panels, and discussion groups to increase brand awareness.
* Utilize resources to position Humanscale from CEO, MD, SD, Sustainability Ambassadors to Product Managers.
* Represent Humanscale at professional networking events such as CoreNet, BCO, and Workplace Trends.
* Complete networking activity and new business reports, and maintain a customer contact database.
* Organize and execute high-level networking events to raise the profile and awareness of Humanscale as market leaders.
* Coordinate activity around all key projects and ensure communication and collaboration among the sales team.
* Facilitate and lead strategic regular planned new business meetings among the sales team.
* Identify and develop new and existing high-level relationships within your target audience.
* Have a strong understanding of all Humanscale’s products and consulting services.
* Utilize resources to position Humanscale: Product Managers, Consulting, Marketing, and all Sales.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of business sales experience, successfully selling to large corporate clients.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent sales experience preferred.
* Successful track record of planning and execution.
* Working knowledge of MS Office and associated applications is required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
* Knowledge and/or experience in the office furniture or related industry is a plus.
* Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities.
