TAX MANAGER (AFRICA) SpaceX is seeking to add a Tax Manager as it expands its Starlink business across Africa and other regions around the world.
You will be part of the international tax team located in Dublin, Ireland and will assist with local country tax matters for the Africa region.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that Starlink's operations in the Africa region, as well as any new countries in Africa, are compliant with local tax requirements, including income tax, withholding tax, excise tax, VAT, and e-invoicing requirementsProvide technical tax analysis regarding the tax implications of existing and new markets across AfricaCollaborate and partner with cross-functional teams (operations, commercial, legal, customs, treasury, accounting, finance) and other stakeholders to build a strong network across these departments and with external resources to ensure compliance with local legislationOversee all tax payments for the Africa region, including monitoring payment dates, calculating correct payment amounts, and ensuring payments are properly recorded in the booksAssist with notices/audits received from various taxing authoritiesAssist with preparation of tax provision in local financial statementsAssist with US tax team on US tax implications of Starlink operations in the Africa regionProvide support as needed on ad hoc projectsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or tax7+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting, law firm and/or a multinational company with operations in AfricaExperience dealing with Africa indirect and direct taxPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Prior Big 4 experience in Africa region or deskPrior experience dealing with e-invoicing environmentData analytics skills, knowledge of Onesource, Alteryx, SQLDetail-oriented, organized, and efficient in work processesAbility to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independentlyADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is based in Dublin, Ireland and requires being onsite - remote or hybrid work not considered
