Overview of Role
The Access to Care Advisor will be part of an integrated team across our UPMC healthcare services that will simplify Access to Care for our patients.
The successful candidate will operate with agility and diligence to ensure the success of the Access to Care team in furtherance of our mission to bring life-changing medicine to all patients and communities we serve.
We seek a candidate with healthcare experience who is service-minded and driven to help others, making the patient experience as straightforward as possible.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Facilitate patient access to our services and healthcare professionals.
* Ensure effective communication to all stakeholders, including patients and staff.
* Provide wide-ranging administrative support for smooth service operation.
The Access to Care Team
Responsible for efficient processing of administrative support services throughout our facilities, including:
* Inpatient Scheduling
* Outpatient Scheduling
* Claims Management
* Referrals Management
* Cash Collection/AR
* Patient Experience
Inpatient Scheduling Duties
* Responsibility for scheduling patient procedures and related physical pre-assessment appointments in a timely manner.
* Collection and confirmation of patient demographic and insurance information as required, entering data accurately into the department's Scheduling system.
* Establish and maintain open and professional communication with ancillary departments and consultants whose services are scheduled by this department.
* Communication of theatre schedules to relevant departments.
Qualifications & Experience
12 months experience in a similar role or healthcare setting
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience of healthcare systems, including i-PIMS desirable
