Summary
Leading and developing a team of specialist support workers to deliver a person-centred care and support service to one or more residents with complex needs, coupled with behaviours that may challenge.
Main Job Purpose
To provide competent leadership to deliver an excellent bespoke care and support service to one or more Core Members with complex needs, in the setting of a values-driven intentional community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Providing leadership and professional guidance to a team of specialist support workers who deliver an excellent bespoke care and support service to one or more core members with complex needs.
2. Developing a cooperative and collaborative team that is flexible in meeting the changing needs of our core members, and that works within the framework of Positive Behaviour Support.
3. Mentoring all staff in best practice, which is in line with minimum care standards, Positive Behaviour Support principles, the NISCC code of conduct, and LArches mission and values.
4. Coordinating weekly staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
Additional Duties
1. Completing household administrative tasks as required, including: maintaining weekly household purse records and preparing monthly petty cash/household purse reports for submission to the main office at the end of each month.
2. Ensuring the house is well stocked with food, cleaning supplies, PPE, etc. at all times.
3. Conducting regular health and safety checks of the premises, reporting any maintenance issues promptly and organising repairs and servicing of equipment as required.
4. Establishing cleaning rotas which ensure that the core members home is kept at a high level of cleanliness at all times.
5. Providing formal quarterly supervision, including reflective practice, to all staff, and informal supervision in the interim as required.
Requirements
* A good standard of education to at least secondary level.
* Prepared to undertake additional qualifications and development in relation to social care management and understanding of learning disability.
* Level 3 Qualification in Social Care, or relevant professional or vocational qualification.
* Training in and/or qualifications in the provision of Positive Behaviour Support.
