Energy Engineering Project Manager sought for large Acute Hospital Campus in Dublin 8. Your role is to progress energy and carbon reduction through energy management teams and behavioural change programmes.
Duties will include:
1. Support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, decarbonisation, water and transport initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.
2. Monitoring and reporting energy consumption / oversee the performance of Energy Performance Contract (EPC).
3. Support existing, initiate and implement new Energy Awareness Management Teams.
4. Implementing a compliant and accredited ISO Energy Management System (EnMS).
5. Ensure compliance with annual reporting obligations such as SEAI Monitoring and Reporting, Building Stock Plans etc.
6. Manage the completion of an annual Climate Action roadmap, utilising standardised tools available to public sector bodies, e.g., SEAI Gap To Target Tool (GTT).
7. Provide water conservation and management advice and support.
8. Assist in developing Environmental Management Plans.
9. Support the Sustainability Manager with active transport and sustainability programmes.
10. Work with the Regional Energy Bureau and actively engage their support to deliver energy efficiency improvement projects.
11. Establish and embed energy management best practices into the culture and day-to-day activities with relevant stakeholders within the regions.
12. Establish Energy Management Teams in various Campus Departments.
13. Provide/make available metered energy and water usage data / comparators and KPIs.
14. Work closely and collaborate with strategic energy partners to optimise existing EPC and to explore future opportunities.
15. Progress Energy Audits / Compile Action Plans for each location.
16. Build on and develop the work already undertaken by the Engineering and Sustainability Departments.
17. Progress Display Energy Certificates.
18. Demonstrate leadership and encourage adaptation of energy improvements into business-as-usual activities.
19. Work as part of the engineering and sustainability function to contribute to energy and carbon emission reduction.
20. Provide professional technical advice and guidance in the area of Energy performance and Energy Efficient Design (EED) approaches and programmes, and guidance in the area of decarbonisation to support the wider sustainability and decarbonisation agenda.
21. Provide insight and assistance to the EPO to meet reporting obligations.
22. Deliver a Professional Energy Management Service and provide technical and project management services.
23. Progress energy and carbon reduction through energy minor capital works.
24. Produce ongoing Register of Opportunities and provide project development support for a pipeline of retrofit projects as will be identified by local Green and Energy Teams.
25. Utilise nationally agreed Register of Opportunity benefit assessment tools to identify which projects should be progressed.
26. Progress Funding Applications for capital works (major and minor) programmes (and, where appropriate, via an EPC).
27. Manage the specification, design, procurement, and completion of energy minor capital works.
28. Undertake a review of the MIC for all supply points.
29. Provide monthly activity, progress and works expenditure reports to the Engineering & Climate manager for energy-related works and projects.
30. You may also be required to assist in the general duties of the Estates Office and will progress works as may be assigned by the Estates Manager.
31. Plan and supervise the execution of major & minor capital works as they relate to energy and carbon reduction works and upgrades.
32. Assist in the preparation of comprehensive briefs for the proposed major and minor capital projects in consultation with services and estates personnel and advisors.
33. Assess the energy requirements of the physical infrastructure of Campus Development Control plan by evaluating purpose, state of upkeep, capacity, suitability, space utilization, and security.
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria:
Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Sustainable Energy Engineering accredited by the relevant Professional Institute being Engineers Ireland.
Have had at least five years’ satisfactory experience in energy management, renewable energy technologies, the construction or maintenance of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, heating, energy management, and energy services of such buildings.
Salary: €75, - €85, with annual increments thereafter.
Annual Leave allowance: 30 days per annum.
Normal working hours: 35 hours per week.
