Overview of Role
Our client is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Developer to join them at their Athlone Head Office. As a Senior Oracle Developer, you will be assisting with the Database design and implementation and the development and maintenance of package code / stored procedures on an ongoing basis to support the IT Systems Development team and troubleshooting and resolving database problems, including database tuning. You will need seven years' experience in Advanced PL/SQL, Oracle Development Toolset, and Oracle Forms and Reports. This will be a twelve-month contract role initially with option for an additional two years and will be hybrid with three days at least on-site in Athlone Head Office.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Assisting with Database design and implementation
* Development and maintenance of package code / stored procedures on an ongoing basis to support the IT Systems Development team
* Troubleshooting and resolving database problems, including database tuning
* Advising developers on best practice and optimal approach in the use of PL/SQL
* Identifying any shortcomings of database systems and recommending improvements
* Completing assigned tasks related to phases of development life-cycle of applications within scope and timeframe requirements
* Developing customised reports
* Mentoring and facilitating skills transfer to their staff
* Assisting in Oracle Upgrade and Migration Projects
* Any other tasks which are considered by them to be appropriate to the role
Key Qualification/Experience required:
* It is a mandatory requirement that you will have an equivalent of Grade Level 3, Senior i.e. 7 years' experience.
* Qualification in Oracle advanced PL/SQL
* Experience in the development and maintenance of PL/SQL packages making full use of the latest features in PL/SQL, with specific emphasis on advanced PL/SQL
* Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Oracle Forms/Reports, including the creation/modification of forms and the management of forms server configuration files and the installation of forms
* Demonstrate knowledge of Aix & Windows Operating Systems
* Demonstrate knowledge with SQL Developer
* Demonstrate experience in skills transfer in relation to Oracle forms, reports, and PL/SQL
