We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Social Worker (Professionally Qualified) to join our Children’s Disability Network team in Network 3.
Contract Type: Permanent (open to full time and part time applicants)
Contract Hours: 35 Hours
Salary Scale: €64,386 to €75,753 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)
Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days
Overview of the Post
To work as a Senior Social Worker as a member of the Children’s Disability Network team in Network 3, providing a quality, evidence-based service to children and young people aged 0 – 18 years within an interdisciplinary framework and family-centred practice and to support other staff and students as assigned.
The aim of this programme is to provide a unified national approach to delivering disability health services so that each child has a clear pathway to the services they need, regardless of where they live, what school they attend, or the nature of their disability or delay.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide direct Social Work services to a defined caseload with Children’s Disability Network services in Kilkenny, both individually and in groups.
2. Work effectively within an interdisciplinary team structure within the PDS framework.
3. Develop and collate professional reports as required in accordance with high professional standards.
4. Consult in family meetings, strategy meetings, and case reviews as required. Ensure effective maintenance of client records in line with relevant legislation and best practice.
5. Timely updating of statistical records, including use of electronic databases.
6. Promote and foster an understanding of the role and contribution of Social Work by providing professional consultation, education, guidance, and support to others as appropriate.
7. Participate in the development and delivery of appropriate training and group work opportunities for service users, families, staff, and external groups.
8. Ensure ongoing personal professional development including participation in Lead agency in-service training.
9. Participate and be a lead clinician in review meetings, case conferences, etc.
10. Engage in Professional Development and Performance Review.
The successful candidate will have:
1. A recognised validated University Degree or Diploma or an equivalent qualification in Social Work.
2. Be registered with CORU to practice in Ireland.
3. Have three years full-time (or an aggregate of three years) post-qualification clinical experience.
4. Previous experience working in the area of Disability.
5. A Full Driver’s Licence and access to their own transport.
